The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood – The Best Steakhouse in Oahu

The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood - The Best Steakhouse in Oahu

Go 36 floors up the Ala Moana Hotel to experience excellent food, gorgeous views of Oahu, a prime selection of wine, and a generally fine time. The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood is what the name tells you; premium quality steaks and seafood unlike any you’ve had before in Oahu.

Although it’s hard to find anything on this menu that’s not a winner, we went with the waiter’s recommendation. So we ordered the Crispy Fried Calamari and Dungeness Crab Cakes for appetizers. The calamari was nicely crisp, and the crab cakes were well-flavored.

Their Prime Filet Mignon (8 oz.) and Prime New York Strip (16 oz.) were incredibly delicious for the main course. The meat was aged over forty days, seasoned to perfection, and bursting with juices and flavor. Also, don’t forget to order the truffle oil mashed potatoes, and truffle garlic fries on the side, that pair deliciously with the steaks.

You’ll be full on their big portions, but dessert is a must at this place, especially the Lilikoi creme brulee and creamy gelato.

Our time at Signature Prime Steak & Seafood was terrific, and we highly recommend it to anyone in Oahu looking for a great steak and fine dining experience.

  • They have a Happy Hour menu which is 50% off on selected items.
  • The service is excellent, and the servers will bring complimentary desserts or sides.
  • The prices are high, at nearly $100 per head for dinner and drinks.
  • There’s live music on the patio at dinner.

Hy’s Steak House – Best Steakhouse in Honolulu Oahu

Hy's Steak House - Best Steakhouse in Honolulu Oahu

Nothing promises a romantic evening in Oahu than a candlelit dinner at Hy’s Steak House. They offer a classic restaurant environment, with lots of dark wood, high ceilings, tasteful lighting, and tuxedoed servers that attend to you well.

A friend recommended Hy’s for their excellent steaks and table-side cooking, and we were thoroughly impressed by it, plus their fantastic service.

The meal starts with complimentary Parmesan cheese bread, followed by your choice of salad. We ordered the table-side Caesar Salad for which they prepared the dressing in front of us, which was so fresh and delicious.

However, the beef is what you’re actually here for, which is hung in-house, and smoked using Hawaiian kiawe wood that gives it a strong flavor. Try the Delmonico, Prime Rib, and New York Strip, which are cooked to the perfect temperature with tender insides, and intense flavor; undoubtedly, the best steak we’ve had.

Also, the portion sizes are huge, so you’ll need a tag team to finish these delicious steaks!

We finished off with a chocolate lover’s table side flambé that our water prepared to perfection.

Don’t miss the great steaks at Hy’s on your next trip, as they’re the best steakhouse in Honolulu Oahu.

  • They offer a selection of wines to go with dinner, and the waiters ensure your glass never empties.
  • You can also order online and enjoy the food for takeout.
  • They also have a great seafood menu, with lots of delicious options.

Ruth's Chris Steak House - Best Steakhouse in Waikiki Oahu

With nearly 21 locations worldwide, Ruth’s Chris Steak House has become a culinary institution serving the best steaks and seafood in Oahu. Located in the heart of Honolulu, this is a great place to visit for special occasions, but make sure to get reservations beforehand.

They have a gourmet appetizer menu from which you should get the Veal Osso Buco Ravioli, which is saffron-infused pasta with veal demi-glace, and plenty rich in flavor. Also, try the BBQ Shrimp tossed in garlic butter and spices, one of our favorite items on their menu.

They have a variety of steaks and chops, all of which are succulent and well-seasoned. We had their T-bone, big enough to share between two people and coated with a delectable truffle butter crust.

If you’re unsure about what to get, they also have a prix fixe menu from 4.30 pm – 6 pm, where you can go through their best entrees, appetizers, and sides. In addition, their Seafood & Specialities menu has delicious options like Stuffed Chicken Breast and Garlic Crusted Sea Bass, which are crowd favorites.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert, but you should definitely try their rich cheesecake and bread pudding.

We loved the food at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and all steak-lovers need to visit it as it’s one of the best steakhouses in Waikiki, Oahu.

  • Their waitstaff is excellent and guides you in ordering the menu and drinks.
  • If you don’t have a reservation, there’s usually bar seating available.
  • Get their lobster mac n cheese on the side, which pairs well with the steak.

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse

Wolfgang's Steakhouse

Another famous steakhouse with locations worldwide is Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, which serves tender steaks and other excellent entree selections like lamb, fresh Norwegian salmon, Maine lobsters, and more. In addition, their steaks are pricier than most steakhouses and come in large portions that require multiple people to finish.

Wolfgang’s is famous for its Porterhouse steaks, which feed two to four people, so they’re a great choice for a party or event. We celebrated a friend’s birthday here, and the steaks were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, just how we like them.

Aside from steaks, they have delicious traditional dinner options like burgers, pasta, and ribs that even children will enjoy, making this a great place for families.

You can get a side of their famous german potatoes and fried onion rings, which are tasty finger foods.

We loved the food at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, and you should visit them when in Oahu for a terrific steak dinner.

  • Their Waikiki location is in a shopping area, so you can stop here for dinner or lunch after exploring the shops.
  • The service is great, and there’s parking in the shopping area’s lot.
  • Steaks cost between $80-$100, with huge portion sizes.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

Morton's The Steakhouse

If you’re planning a date night with your partner or celebrating a special occasion, head to Morton’s for their cozy setting and terrific food. As it’s located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, you’ll have views of the nearby beach park from your seats, which combines well with the casual dining atmosphere.

Morton’s is known for their table-side presentations and gigantic steaks that can feed a crowd. Get their tender Wagyu Filet for a smaller serving that’s just as flavorful, or the 36 oz. Tomahawk Ribeye (you’ll need a small party to finish this one.)

This is also a great place for families, as there’s no dress code, and the menu features various options aside from red meat, like chicken, lobster, shrimp, and vegetarian entrees.

Pair your mains with excellent sides like the Smoked Gouda & Bacon Au Gratin Potatoes, Lobster Mac n Cheese, and Loaded Baked Potato to finish off a great meal.

We loved the food and ambiance at Morton’s The Steakhouse and consider it the best steakhouse in Oahu for a casual dinner.

  • After dinner, take a stroll on the nearby beach.
  • They often have promotions going on, so ask your server before ordering.
  • Sides are separate from the main course at additional costs.

D.K. Steakhouse

D.K. Steakhouse

D.K. Steakhouse is a local Hawaiian favorite for its delicious steaks and seafood. Located in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort, the restaurant is hard to find, but that doesn’t stop tourists from flocking here as it’s always packed. However, you can get reservations here or opt for takeout to avoid crowds.

Their menu mixes Asian flavors with local Hawaiian ingredients, so you can expect a lot of variety. For steaks, they use a dry-age, prime cut of beef that’s bursting with flavor, which makes all their steaks exceptional.

Try the Filet mignon or New York strip, and if you’re a steak enthusiast, the 22 oz bone-in rib-eye is exceptional.

Because of their large steaks, we didn’t order anything else, but the Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Wedge Salad are delicious options.

If you’re looking for something other than steaks, go for their Seared White Tuna, fresh catch of the day, or Shrimp in Garlic Butter, which are all exceptionally delicious.

We loved the unique flavors at D.K. Steakhouse, and they’re definitely one of the best steakhouses in Oahu.

  • Their interior is casual and secluded, making it perfect for an intimate evening.
  • They have a full sushi bar with lots of variety.
  • Their hand-rolled sashimi and Calamari salad are crowd favorites.

Stripsteak Waikiki

Stripsteak Waikiki

Chef Michael Mina introduces an Asian flair to the classic American Steakhouse with Stripsteak Waikiki. Located on the third floor of the Grand Lanai, overlooking Oahu’s International Marketplace, this steakhouse offers excellent views of nearby beaches and markets while enjoying a terrific meal.

If you’re unsure what to order, try the Tasting menu, which has portions of everything. However, we always order from their main menu, which starts with complimentary duck-fat fries and three tasty sauces. Then, try the Foie Gras from their appetizer menu, which is a house specialty.

For steaks, you can’t go wrong with the 8 oz. Center-Cut Filet Mignon with garlic fried rice, which is a perfect combination. My boyfriend gets the Prime Delmonico Ribeye with black truffle butter, giving the steak a wonderful, luscious outer crust.

Finish off with the basque-style cheesecake with roasted strawberries, which is incredibly rich and creamy.
