On our last vacation to Kona my boyfriend and I were excited to try out all the different pizza places. I had heard that the pizzas here were amazing.

After talking with our local host, we set out to try as many as we could. Each one was more delicious than the last.

This restaurant is a great place for families or a relaxed date night. The inside has bar-like features like street art and metal décor. They also have craft beer. The outside of the restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean and palm trees. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to on the mainland or in Hawaii.

The best part is the delicious pizza. We shared a Classic combo (with lots of meat!) and a BBQ Chicken (with Kiawe Mango BBQ Sauce, Mozzarella, Chicken, Red Onion, Roasted Red Peppers, Bacon, and Smoked Mozzarella). Just in case, we also had a portion of the pepperoni rolls with spicy, sour cream (way too much food!)

The dough was freshly made and baked to perfection. All the ingredients were fresh and well-seasoned. I loved that they had a fun make-your-own pizza menu. There are many topping options for gourmet pizza lovers, like dried tomatoes, goat feta, blue cheese, garlic olive oil – sausage gravy, and spicy homemade red sauce.

They even have homemade vegan cheese with basil and cauliflower crust (for our vegan friends).

I loved this place so much that we got takeout twice during our trip.

This is a great traditional pizza place (small and simple). The locals run it, and the customer base is largely local. The menu is simple, and the food is well done with fresh and classic ingredients.

We dined in and had two pizzas. I had the spinach and caramelized onion pizza, while my boyfriend had the Ranch Chicken Bacon pizza. Both pizzas were incredibly well prepared. The crust was delicious, and there was plenty of creamy cheese. Toppings were fresh and plentiful.

Our waiter was very personable and friendly. He let us know we could substitute toppings if we wished. They also have several salads on the menu (but we already overate!) We had some great beer with our dinner.

The restaurant has a takeout option for those who want to pick up the food and head to the beach. The working hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., so plan your visit accordingly.

This is a pleasant family-style Italian restaurant (red checkered tablecloths and everything). They have a small but very pleasant outside seating area. The restaurant serves other Italian specialties like pasta and lasagna. We came and stayed for the gourmet pizzas.

We liked that each pizza had a deep dish or traditional option. There are also several sizes to choose from. We ordered the Bufala (house special with fresh mozzarella and whole peeled tomatoes) and the gourmet garlic (with fresh herbs and garlic). Both pizzas were very well done. The perfectly baked dough, fresh tomatoes, and cheese are the most impressive part.

It was the most authentic Italian-tasting pizza I have eaten in a long time. The sauce is made from scratch and plentiful. Perfect for lovers of original (simple) recipes.
