#1. The Dirty Monkey – Best Happy Hour Lahaina Sports Bar

The Dirty Monkey – Best Happy Hour Lahaina Sports Bar

Between 3 and 6 p.m. daily, this is the place to be.

The Dirty Monkey is a classic American sports bar with a large bar, comfortable and spacious seating, and comfortable terrace seating for couples or small groups (overlooking Front St.) For game lovers, there are several large TVs to follow the game while delighting in cheap drinks and eats.

As it was such a sunny day, we grabbed a table outside. Live music started during Happy Hour and was fun and relaxing. For those more adventures, Tuesday happy hour is karaoke night, and Wednesday is whiskey night. They are famous for their scotch and whiskey collection.

The appetizers (small bites menu) are 50% off during Happy Hour, so I indulged immediately. We got beef mini tacos, Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Jalapeño Poppers, and a hummus and veggies plate. The workers at the bar are friendly, the food comes out quickly, and everything is fresh and tasty.

We enjoyed some tasty cocktails and beers. I had a couple of Mai Tai’s, and there was $2 off local draft beers, so we appreciated that.

There is a DJ on Fridays, so making it a night here would be great.

This place is the best happy hour in Maui because:

  • The food is fantastic and seriously discounted during happy hour.
  • The service is quick and friendly, and they keep the drinks coming.
  • There are different activities on different nights, so multiple visits are well worth it.
  • The live music is fun but not too overpowering.
  • They have the finest scotch and whiskey selection in town.

#2. Milagros Food Company – Best Happy Hour in Historic Paia Town

Milagros Food Company - Best Happy Hour in Historic Paia Town

This place was such fun; we came twice. Once for happy hour and once for an early lunch. This was a close second pick because I loved people-watching at this local gathering spot. The atmosphere is totally laid back and casual. Not to mention the Mexican food is fantastic.

There is comfortable seating both inside and outside on the covered patio. The bar is spacious and can accommodate a lot of people. I love this place because it’s a great restaurant first, and then it turns into a fun local bar with treats each day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The happy hour brought out the locals and a lively vibe. This is a rare place where I liked being seated inside. We started with the salsa and chips (all the food is made from scratch in-house – including the chips!). The salsa had a perfect kick, and the guacamole was fresh and perfectly seasoned.

Each day they have a food special, and when we were there, the offer was nachos, burgers, and tacos for only $6 each. We both ordered tacos and split one portion of the nachos. Everything tasted authentic. The sauces and spices were terrific.

The booze selection is top-notch. I had a couple of mango margaritas and a house white wine, each $5. (And highly delicious!) My boyfriend had several draft beers that were $4 each.

Overall a fantastic combination of food and drink:

  • This is my second pick, and a great happy hour spot because:
  • The atmosphere is laid back, fun, and local. The seating is spacious.
  • The food is fantastic, and the portions are large and made from scratch.
  • The margaritas are as good as any high-end option on the island but at less than half the price.
  • There are plenty of beer and wine options and a house Mai Tai.

Address: 3 Baldwin Ave, Paia, HI 96779

#3. Three’s Bar & Grill – Happy Hour Kihei – Fusion with the Best Local Music

Three’s Bar & Grill – Happy Hour Kihei - Fusion with the Best Local Music

I loved this place because it is close to the beach, so we had a fantastic happy hour with a view. The entire vibe was a beach house and barbecuing with some friends on the deck (but elegant). Service was friendly, and live music perfectly set the mood.

The happy hour menu is somewhat high-end, and I had a great time indulging (Asian Fusion). Most of the items cost around $10 each, which was a fantastic deal for what you get. We split some Portobello mushrooms, crispy pork belly with green papaya salad, coconut-crusted shrimp with peanut slaw, and a spicy tuna roll. (I know, it makes your mouth water!)

My boyfriend tried several hot shots (fireball cinnamon whisky) for drinks, which were $6 each. And a draft beer which was about the same price. And I had two top-shelf margaritas that were $8.25 each. Everything tasted amazing and fit in with the beautiful surroundings.

Honestly, this felt less like a happy hour and more like a quality meal at a solid restaurant. The only reason it is third on my list is that it is pricier than the other choices.

The staff here is happy and smiling and guaranteed to put you in a happy mood.

Don’t miss out on Three’s Bar & Grill happy hour because:

  • The food is fresh, high quality, tasty, and authentic to the Asian fusion theme.
  • The restaurant is situated in a beautiful setting, so you can enjoy the view and even take a walk afterward.
  • There is live entertainment most nights which perfectly sets the mood.
  • The drinks are well crafted, strong, and paired with the menu.

#4. Maui Brewing Company & Tasting Room – Best Happy Hour Maui for Beer Lovers

Maui Brewing Company & Tasting Room – Best Happy Hour Maui for Beer Lovers

It’s nearly impossible to find a flaw in the Maui Brewing Company. The space is stunning, spacious, and authentic to the island. This is a rear place where you can take a sunset walk with a beautiful brew in your hand or enjoy the garden space while listening to live music.

During happy hour, beer is $1 off the house draft and $3 off cocktails. They also make delicious authentic pizza to enjoy with your drinks for only $12 each.

We had a fantastic table outside overlooking the ocean. The atmosphere was simple and relaxing while music played on the packed ground. Honestly, all it was missing was a bonfire to bring me into the carefree days.

Aside from a fantastic wood fire pizza, we had a portion of boneless fried chicken with ranch dipping sauce. It was tasty and 50% off, making it under $10 per portion.

We enjoyed staying long after happy hour. Happy hour is shorter here than in other locations, so check before arriving.

Visit the Maui Brewing Company for happy hour because:

  • The atmosphere and venue are spacious, beautiful, and very relaxing.
  • There is live music almost daily, which perfectly sets the mood.
  • This is a great place to extend your stay and enjoy delicious food and the sunset.
  • They have some of the best beer and pizza you will have on your trip.
